Of those returning information on ethnicity:

  • The most popular choice of route across all minority ethnic groups was continuing in full time education at 89.1%. This is lower than the proportion for those from a white background (91.3%).
  • The least popular route for all minority ethnic groups was continuing in education part-time (16 hours or less a week) with no individuals taking this option. The same route was also the least popular option for those from a white background (5 individuals).
  • A higher percentage of those with white backgrounds (1.6 percentage point difference) were represented in the employed category, 2.7% from white backgrounds compared to 1.1% from minority ethnic backgrounds.
  • The NEET figure for those from white backgrounds is lower than for those from an ethnic minority background (0.6% and 1.3% respectively).
