Of those returning information on ethnicity:

  • The most popular choice of route across all minority ethnic groups was continuing in full time education at 91.5%. This is the same proportion for those from a white background
  • The least popular route for all minority ethnic groups was continuing in education part-time (16 hours or less a week) at 0.2%. The same route was also the least popular option for those from a white background (also 0.2%)
  • A higher percentage of those with white backgrounds (1.3 percentage point difference) were represented in the employed category, 2.9% from white backgrounds compared to 1.6% from minority ethnic backgrounds
  • The NEET figure for those from white backgrounds and from an ethnic minority background are similar (1.4% and 1.2% respectively).
