Of those returning information on ethnicity:

  • The most popular choice of route across all minority ethnic groups was continuing in full time education at 93.5%. This is higher than the proportion for those from a white background (92%).
  • The least popular route for all minority ethnic groups was continuing in education part-time (16 hours or less a week) at 0.1%. The same route was also the least popular option for those from a white background (also 0.1%).
  • A higher percentage of those with white backgrounds (2 percentage point difference) were represented in the employed category, 3% from white backgrounds compared to 1% from minority ethnic backgrounds.
  • The NEET figure for those from white backgrounds and from an ethnic minority background are similar (0.9% and 1% respectively).
